FOR L&D, CORPORATE ACADEMIES & HEADS OF FUNCTION

Nobody ever changed how they work because of a slide.

They changed because they lost.

Senior teams learn by deciding under pressure — then watching it play out.

Half a day to three days. One scenario, real trade-offs, a clock running. Your team makes the calls, the model answers honestly, and the debrief afterwards is where the learning actually lands.

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS

Three parts. The third one is the product.

The scenario gets attention. The clock creates the pressure. But the reason anything changes on Monday is the debrief.

The scenario

A situation with no clean answer, built from the kind of problem your organisation actually has. Incomplete information, on purpose.

The clock

Decisions get made under time pressure, in front of each other. This is where a team finds out how it really behaves, rather than how it describes itself.

The debrief

Every call they made, replayed against what they knew at the time. Not a scoreboard — a mirror. This is the part people quote back a year later.

THE GAMES · NAMES ARE PLACEHOLDERS

Three sessions. Each one is a named thing, not a topic.

Run as they are, or rebuilt around your own situation — which is usually what happens after the first one.

01 · CRISIS

The Crisis Sandbox

A business crisis unfolds live. The team decides together, with incomplete information and a clock, and finds out how it actually behaves when it matters.

  • Senior and cross-functional teams
  • Half day to full day
  • Decision log and structured debrief
02 · NUMBERS

The Finance Simulation

For leaders who never trained in numbers. Read a real set of accounts, challenge them, and defend a decision using them — in front of people who will push back.

  • Non-finance department heads
  • Full day, or a short cohort
  • They leave able to argue with a CFO
03 · MACHINES

The Machine Room

Teams put agents into a workflow they actually own, and discover by doing it exactly where the machine helps and where judgment has to stay human.

  • Any function; no technical background needed
  • Full day to multi-day
  • One working automation, theirs to keep
FORMATS

It fits the day you already have.

Most of these run inside an existing offsite, leadership week or academy programme. Nothing here needs its own calendar event to justify itself.

½
Half day — one cycleA single decision cycle and one debrief. Fits inside an offsite without displacing it.
1
Full day — the whole arcThree cycles, escalating. Long enough that the team's own pattern becomes visible to them.
2–3
Multi-day — mixed cohortRun across functions deliberately. The handoffs between them stop being a footnote and become the lesson.

WHAT THE TEAM LEAVES WITH

Something on paper, not a feeling.

A good session ends with an artefact the organisation can act on the following week. If it ends with everyone agreeing it was interesting, it failed.

The decision log

Every call the team made, in order, with what they actually knew at the moment they made it. Uncomfortable to read, which is the point.

The pattern

The habit the team repeats under pressure — who gets deferred to, what gets deferred, and which information nobody went looking for.

One named change

Not a list of recommendations. One thing the group has agreed to do differently, with a name attached to it before anyone leaves the room.

WHAT USUALLY HAPPENS NEXT
A session shows you where it stalls. Fixing it is a build.
Teams often finish a day having named a bottleneck they've been living with for years. Rebuilding that function — so the machine takes the production and your people keep the judgment — is the other half of what I do.

FIRST CONVERSATION

Tell me who's in the room.

A short call is usually enough to know which session fits, and whether it's worth the day.
